Vacation Homes for Good™ support their communities through measurable local contributions and recognized hosting practices.

Through the 1% Community Contribution Standard and place-based hosting practices, certified Vacation Homes For Good™ support stronger relationships between travelers, hosts, and destination communities.

The 1% Community Contribution Standard

Certified homes participate in the 1% Community Contribution Standard, directing at least 1% of annual rental revenue toward local nonprofit organizations or the Vacation Homes for Good™ Community Fund. Contributions support initiatives that strengthen the communities where certified homes operate such as:

  • Local recreation and education programs

  • Trail stewardship and conservation projects

  • Local arts and cultural organizations

  • Historic preservation efforts

  • Equitable access and advocacy groups

  • Housing and community stability initiatives

  • Community infrastructure and resilience programs

The Vacation Homes For Good™ Community Fund

The Vacation Homes for Good™ Community Fund enables certified homes to participate in collective impact across destination communities. Contributions help support projects that strengthen local quality of life and sustain the places travelers value most.

Hosts may contribute directly to local nonprofit organizations or participate in pooled funding through the Community Fund.
