About Vacation Homes For Good™

Recognizing Vacation Homes That Support Their Communities

Vacation Homes for Good™ was founded on the idea that vacation homes can create meaningful stays while also helping strengthen the places travelers come to experience. Across the country, many vacation rental owners are already quietly going beyond the basics. They welcome guests thoughtfully, support local businesses, help travelers engage respectfully with communities, and look for ways to positively contribute to the places where they operate.

Vacation Homes for Good™ recognizes vacation homes committed to thoughtful hospitality, community-minded hosting, and measurable local impact. Certified homes pledge to operate with care, hospitality, and ethics while contributing at least 1% of annual rental revenue to local nonprofit organizations and/or the Vacation Homes for Good™ Community Fund through the 1% Community Contribution Standard.

We seek to recognize homes that are intentionally creating positive guest experiences while supporting the places they call home.

What Makes a Vacation Home for Good™?

Vacation Homes for Good™ are recognized for how they:

  • Welcome and prepare guests thoughtfully

  • Support respectful travel and positive neighborhood relationships

  • Strengthen local economies through recommendations, partnerships, and sourcing

  • Care for the natural and cultural places that make destinations special

  • Contribute to community well-being through measurable local giving

Certification highlights homes committed to stronger guest experiences, local connection, and responsible stewardship.

Who We Are

Vacation Homes for Good™ is a woman-owned, family-owned, U.S.-based initiative founded to help strengthen relationships between travelers, hosts, and destination communities through more thoughtful, community-centered vacation home hosting.

Based in New England and operating nationally, Vacation Homes for Good™ recognizes vacation homes demonstrating meaningful practices related to guest experience, community contribution, stewardship, and responsible hosting.

Certification is administered by the Community-Centered Vacation Home Association (CCVHA), the independent standards body established to oversee program standards and recognition.

As a growing initiative, we are committed to building a practical, credible, and community-minded model for vacation home hosting that benefits guests, hosts, and the places they visit.

Our Relationship with CCVHA

Vacation Homes for Good™ is the public-facing recognition and certification program for vacation homes committed to community-minded hosting.

Certification standards, validation, and program oversight are administered by the Community-Centered Vacation Home Association (CCVHA), an independent standards body established to help promote thoughtful hosting practices, stronger community relationships, and greater trust in what certification represents.

This structure helps ensure that certification remains thoughtful, credible, and grounded in clear standards rather than marketing claims alone.

In short: Vacation Homes for Good™ recognizes and celebrates homes that choose to go beyond the basics.

CCVHA helps ensure that recognition is supported by meaningful standards and ongoing accountability.

Why This Matters

Vacation homes are an important part of how people travel, creating opportunities for connection, memorable experiences, and more personal stays. At the same time, communities increasingly care about how tourism affects neighborhoods, local businesses, housing, and quality of life.

A more community-centered model of vacation home hosting is emerging, grounded in thoughtful hospitality, stronger local connection, and meaningful community contribution.

Founder, Vacation Homes for Good™

Danielle Iannotti is a longtime vacation rental owner, property manager, and business leader with a background in thoughtful hospitality and meaningful travel experiences.

Danielle sees firsthand the important role vacation homes play in supporting tourism, local economies, and memorable stays for guests. Through her own vacation rental, Sugar Moon Cabin in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, she contributes a portion of annual proceeds to local initiatives including youth programs, adaptive outdoor recreation, and food access initiatives. Inspired by the opportunity for vacation homes to create a broader positive impact, she founded Vacation Homes for Good™ to recognize and celebrate homes taking a community-minded approach to hosting.
